After His characterizing of the Pharisees and scribes and condemnation of them, Jesus laments over Jerusalem. (Matthew 23:1-39)
Then Jesus explained what will come (Matthew 24:1-31)
Now as he sat on the Mount of Olives his disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of your coming, and the end of the age?”
And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying I am the Christ, and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. (Matthew 24:4-8)
Are you aware? True Christians are because they can read The Word of God and understand.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever. (Psalm 111:10)
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgements of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. (Psalm 19:9)
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both body and soul in hell. (Matthew 10:28)
At the Lord’s crucifixion: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS (Luke 23:26-38)
Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him saying, “If you are the Christ, save yourself and us.” But the other, answering, rebuked him saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? and we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said to Jesus, “Lord remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” and Jesus said to him, “Assuredly I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” Now it was about the sixth hour and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. Then the sun was darkened and the veil of the temple was torn in two. And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father into your hands I commit My spirit.” Having said this, He breathed His last. So when the centurion saw what happened, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous Man!” And the whole crowd who came together to that sight, seeing what had been done, beat their breasts and returned (showed remorse and anguish). But all His acquaintances, and the women who followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things. (Luke 23: 39-49)
The Lord is my light and salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27)
Is the Lord your light and salvation?
