Preach the Word, be Loyal to the Faith and strong in Grace.

Paul’s Encouragement to Timothy:

Be loyal to the faith: 2 Timothy 1:13-14

Hold fast in the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Jesus Christ. That good thing which was committed to you by the Holy Spirit which dwells in us.

Be strong in grace:  2 Timothy 2:2-26

You therefore my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And these things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 2 Timothy 2:1-3

Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel, for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained. Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain salvation which is in Jesus Christ with eternal glory.

This is a faithful saying:

For if we died with Him,

We shall also live with Him. (Romans 6:4-8)

If we endure,

we shall also reign with Him. (Revelation 1:6; 5:10; 20:4,6)

If we deny Him,

He will also deny us. (1 John 2:19; Matthew 10:33)

If we are faithless,

He remains faithful;

He cannot deny Himself. (John 3:16; John 3:18; Hebrew 10:23)

Paul to Timothy (2 Timothy 3:1-9)

But know this, in the last days perilous times will come:  For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unloving , unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres (most likely two Egyptian magicians who opposed Moses, pretended to be Jewish proselytes, instigated worship of the golden calf and were killed with the rest of the idolaters, (Exodus 7:11,22; 8:7, 18, 19; 9:11), so do these also resist the truth:  men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be made manifest to all, as theirs also was.

Preach the Word (2 Timothy 4:1-22)

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:  Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long-suffering and teaching.
