I went to breakfast at our church this morning. It is a true place of fellowship in the worship of and in Christ. I always feel the Lord’s presence. Today the sermon was on the last woman in Jesus’s lineage, Bathsheba, Then we know Mary, his mother of course whose husband was Joseph. The lineage is in Matthew 1:6. Then you read where David the King, begot Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah. I had not completely understood this until today. The text of the relationship is in 2 Samuel 11 & 12. The scripture tells of King David’s sin towards Bathsheba, against God and in the planned death of her husband Uriah, to cover up what he had done. The prophet Nathan presents to David a description of what he had done in a different way, from the Lord God to convict him of his sin. What Pastor presented was truth besides that is that Bathsheba was defiled. Like many women today, who remain silent of what has happened to them. It stays inside always and is a hurt that can stay and fester without forgiveness. Yes, it is a sin that was done to her. David did repent and was forgiven by the Lord and her. She grew to be very important to God the Father, because she bore King Solomon to carry on the lineage to our Lord Jesus Christ. The lineage from Mary’s side is in Luke:23-38.
Lord uses all of us to his sovereign purpose. Nothing does not happen that he already hasn’t predestined before the world was even created. He says who is elected to the heavenly kingdom eternally and who is not. Without that election we go on through our days and years here (to God one day is like a thousand years, 2 Peter 3:8) like we are running a race to nowhere. Yet we think to ourselves we are going somewhere. Well there are only two places to go. I am going to heaven. Am I sure? Yes and you can be too. If you feel no presence everyday of the Lord. A personal relationship where you talk, walk and pray with him, then it’s time to take a long look. If you are not loving others like he loves us. Then take another look. If you are not out doing for others what he did for us, than take another look. When he died for us and you do not understand what that means, it’s time to take another look. He came to save the sheep that his Father (God) has given him. We were already known before we were even in our mother’s womb, before the world was created.
No one can come to the Father unless he draws them. All that the Father gives Me, will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him that sent Me. This is the will of the Father who sent me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing but should raise it up at the last day. John 6:37-40. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He (Jesus) was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:1-5. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14.
Now someone tell me prayers do not get answered. I cried in church very hard today. Pastor said we all know someone who has been hurt like Bathsheba. We may be like Bathsheba in how she was hurt. We can’t forget it, we can forgive and God can use those hurts to his glory in us. I came home today got on the computer and an instant message popped up. It was my daughter that I have not had contact with in almost a year. I prayed, I hoped, I believed and will always.
He gave his life so that we could be forgiven. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it for a man to gain the whole world and loses his own soul? Or what will a man exchange for his soul? Matthew 16:25-26.
Give your life when he calls you. I mean if he calls you and you are his you will answer yes. Because his sheep know his voice and they know his. John 10:14-16.
Thank you Lord Jesus for Prayers Answered.
